OVERVIEW
7th Vitiligo International Congress
The 7th Vitiligo International Congress (VIC7), formerly known as the Vitiligo International Symposium, and hosted by the Global Vitiligo Foundation, will gather the global vitiligo and dermatology community under the inspiring theme “Victory over Vitiligo in Vancouver.” Building on the momentum of the 2024 congress in Egypt, VIC7 is set to welcome international delegates including dermatologists, researchers, healthcare providers, trainees, and industry partners.
The scientific program will highlight the latest advances in vitiligo research, treatment, and patient care, while also addressing a broad range of critical topics in vitiligo such as:
- Vitiligo pathogenesis
- New advances in vitiligo treatment
- Basic and translational research
- Epidemiology and patient related outcomes
- Unmet needs and emerging opportunities
World-renowned experts will deliver keynote lectures, symposia, and interactive sessions designed to share cutting-edge discoveries, practical strategies, and market insights.
VIC7 is more than a scientific meeting—it is a unique opportunity for the global community to unite, share experiences, and celebrate progress toward better care and outcomes for people living with vitiligo. Delegates will leave Vancouver inspired, informed, and connected, ready to shape the future of dermatology and vitiligo management.

Global Vitiligo Foundation
The Global Vitiligo Foundation (GVF), as we know it today, was originally the Vitiligo Working Group, a committee of the Skin of Color Society (SOCS). The Global Vitiligo Foundation was formally established in 2011 by Henry Ford Hospital physicians, Drs. Henry W. Lim and Iltefat Hamzavi, but was only incorporated in 2016. Drs. Lim and Hamzavi continue to lead the organization today with associated physicians and people with vitiligo.
Each year, prior to the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), the GVF holds a Scientific Symposium that highlights the research and knowledge of both up and coming researchers and those who have and continue to build the foundational knowledge about vitiligo.
Started in 2016 by Drs. Mauro Picardo and Allen Taieb, the Vitiligo International Symposium (VIS) has grown into the largest gathering of vitiligo researchers and specialized practitioners in the world. With the growth and interest in the meeting, Vancouver, Canada is please continue the legacy with the rebranded 7th Vitiligo International Congress.
